Partizan Richmond Premier Wins State Cup!

The weather was great, hot, and those who came out to watch were witnessed to some great soccer.  In the end, Partizan Richmond Premier came out on top and won the State Cup Tournament.

Congratulations to all of the players for a job well done.  Everyone played very well and more importantly, played as a team.  There were many great saves and great goals.

A special thanks to the coaches, John Roach and Will Mihajlovits for organizing the team and running the show over the weekend.  Everyone had a great time and it was a great way for the premier team to begin the 2010-2011 CVSA season.

The State Cup trophy will travel back to the MDCVSA head quarters with the Partizan name engraved.  Piccola's will keep the team trophy so feel free to visit Piccola's for some good food and a chance to take your picture next to the cup.

Fall Season

The summer season has been hot and eventful but regardless, Partizan played and did very well.

Every Partizan team made it to the semi-final game.  Each team played well and the players enjoyed summer ball.

With summer close to an end that only means one thing, fall soccer is almost here.  The CVSA is accepting team registrations and Partizan intends to register all 6 teams for the fall season.  Partizan is working on creating another team to make it 7 teams.

Managers of each team be sure to visit the CVSA website to check on the new policies and procedures for registering teams.  The first deadline is August 22nd.

If you are a player interested in joining a team, please contact us and we will be happy to talk to you about playing with Partizan.

Hello Everyone,

Many of you have played with Partizan in some capacity over the past two years, on Wednesday morning , July 7th we lost one of our own.

Anna Wright was a goal keeper at Lynchburg College and played with us during the Summer of 2009, Neptune 2009, National Amateur game in May 2010 and Summer 2010. She was involved in a single car crash on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 7:19am. Unfortunately, Anna did not survive the crash. Anna was going to be a senior this year at Lynchburg. Last year she led the team to the NCAA Final Four. Enclosed below is the link to her obituary as well as the article in the Times Dispatch about the crash. It appears she did not suffer and was pronounced dead at the scene. The article doesn’t offer much information but there is a picture which I found made the whole thing hit home, so just be aware when you click on the link. A memorial service was held in her honor on Friday, July 9th.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Sports Outreach Institute, I have spoken with the members of the board and Partizan will be making a donation in Anna’s name.

If you did not have the opportunity to play with Anna, you missed out she was a very sweet, caring nice girl and the Richmond/Lynchburg community truly lost someone special on Wednesday morning.
